Community Chest (Linwood Technologies) helps neighbors start and join local volunteer projects. We collect the minimum needed to make that work:

  • Account: Sign in with Apple identity, display name, and a coarse home-area pin you set yourself. We never track your location in the background.
  • Activity: projects you create, commitments, sign-ups, verified volunteer hours, pledges, and borrow requests — stored in Apple's CloudKit.
  • Video: pitch videos upload to your own YouTube channel with your consent; we store only the video ID and a thumbnail.
  • YouTube and Google: Community Chest uses YouTube API Services. When you connect your Google account, we upload videos you record to your own YouTube channel and — only at your request — change a video's visibility or delete it. Your Google sign-in token is stored only in your device's Keychain, never on our servers, and we collect no other data from your Google account. By using these features you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. Disconnect anytime in the app (Impact → Me → Disconnect YouTube) or at Google security settings; we delete stored data tied to that authorization within 7 days of disconnection.
  • Payments: business sponsorships of a project are processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store card numbers.
  • Health: optional workout logging is write-only to Apple Health and never leaves your device.
  • Minors: volunteers under 18 need parental approval per gathering, can't send or receive direct messages, never appear on public rosters, and appear in videos only with guardian media consent (enforced when a recap is assembled). Under-13 accounts are not permitted. Minors may join only gatherings certified by their school or a verified youth-serving organization.
  • Guardian contacts: when a school shares its family contact list so parental approvals can be checked against it, we store only salted hashes of those contacts — never the plaintext email or phone number — and use them for one purpose: refusing an approval that doesn't match the guardian on file.
  • Parent view: approving a gathering produces a private, read-only web link showing what your child joined, who certified it, and their verified time. Anyone holding the link can open it, so treat it like a ticket; it is not indexed and grants no ability to change anything.
  • Where gatherings are: gatherings marked "I approve who joins" publish only a coarse neighborhood pin (about 500 metres). The exact address is stored separately and shared only with neighbors the organizer approves.
  • Schools and employers: if you join with a school or company code, that organization sees your verified volunteer hours. Schools see their own students by name; employers see aggregate totals plus only the members who opted into being listed, and never minors. Nobody sees your location history, your messages, or gatherings you didn't log hours for.
  • Organization billing: schools and employers pay us for software on this website via Stripe. We store only a customer reference and subscription status — never card details, which exist solely at Stripe.

We use no third-party analytics or advertising SDKs and we don't sell data. Reports of unsafe content are reviewed and actioned within 24 hours. Questions or deletion requests: kyle@linwoodtechnologies.com.
