Dealer's Choice ("the app") is built to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what that means in practice.
10 Who I am
The app is published by me, Kyle Peterson. You can reach me any time at kyle@linwoodtechnologies.com.
20 What I collect, and what I don't
I do not sell or share your data with advertisers, and the app contains no third-party advertising or analytics trackers. I never see your Apple Account credentials or your payment details.
I do keep one small store of my own: a CloudKit database attached to the app. Two features write to it - playing with friends, and the Suggestion Box. Both are described below. Everything else the app knows about you, including your statistics, streaks, unlocks, and preferences, stays on your device and in your own private iCloud, where I cannot read it.
30 Information handled by Apple
Game Center. Online multiplayer, matchmaking, and leaderboards use Apple's Game Center. Your Game Center nickname and scores are handled by Apple under Apple's Privacy Policy. I never see your Apple Account credentials.
iCloud. If iCloud is enabled on your device, your game statistics, streaks, and preferences sync across your own devices through your private iCloud storage. This data lives in your iCloud account, not on any server I control.
Purchases. Optional purchases (such as the Dealer's Club membership or individual game unlocks) are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. I do not receive or store your payment details.
40 Feedback you choose to send
The app's Suggestion Box (Send Feedback and Suggest a Game) is anonymous by design. A note carries its text, how you rated it, the game you filed it from if you filed it from one, the app version and build, and the app's language - enough for me to act on it, and nothing that identifies you. I have no way to reply. Notes travel through Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) to a database only I can read. Please don't include personal information in the note itself.
The App Store listing discloses this as Customer Support data, used for app functionality - your feedback helps me fix bugs and improve the app. It is not linked to your identity and is never used for tracking or advertising.
50 Playing with friends
If you are signed in to Game Center and "Share online status with friends" is on, the app publishes a small presence record so your Game Center friends can see you are around. It is on by default. You can turn it off at any time in Settings, and turning it off stops the publishing.
The record holds four things: which game you are at, whether that table is practice or online, when it was last updated, and your region code. It carries no name - friends resolve names from their own Game Center friend list.
It is filed under a one-way scrambled version of your Game Center ID rather than the ID itself, and it can only be read by someone who already knows your Game Center ID - in practice, a Game Center friend. It cannot be searched or browsed, and it goes stale on its own.
Your region code is the flag shown at the table, and it also goes to the people you sit down with in an online match, so they can see your flag beside your name. Unless you pick a flag yourself in Settings, it is your device's region setting, so treat it as approximate rather than private. It is a region and never a precise location: the app never asks for or receives your location.
The App Store listing discloses these as User ID, Coarse Location, and Product Interaction. All three are linked to you, all three are used only to make these features work, and none of them is used for tracking or advertising.
60 Children
The app is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
